ISO 9001:2008 Small Changes Big OpportunitiesWith the estimated more than one million certified ISO 9000 users around the world, any changes to the international quality management standard — even small ones — are likely to have far reaching repercussions to industry.

That’s why drafters of the 2008 edition of the standard have intentionally limited all changes in the best selling voluntary standard of all time to only those deemed appropriate for achieving greater compatibility with the ISO 14001 standard on environmental management systems or to achieve greater clarity based on user feedback.

One the world's most prominent experts on the standard — Nigel H. Croft — is urging both certified and non certified users of the standard who will be migrating to the 2008 edition to use the opportunity to improve the overall effectiveness of their quality management systems for meeting customer requirements and expectations.

“The time is right for people to take a critical look at the things that they’ve done with their quality management system,” says Croft, author of the newly released eBook, ISO 9001:2008 Small Changes Big Opportunities published by Sustainable Success Alert.
